Great food with lots of flavor, super friendly staff, the service was quick, the restaurant seemed very clean.. I honestly have nothing negative at all to say about this place!! General tao is a MUST TRY!! The best part is that they are opened until 4 a.m. so you can satisfy your craving at any time ^_^
Awesome. Most diverse restaurant crowd I have ever been amidst. General Tso chicken reminiscent of Sammy's Noodles in Manhattan.
Delicious peanut butter dumplings, duck and Cantonese noodles!
Delicious Chinese Foods. It offered good service compared to other Chinese restaurants.
The food arrived fast & it was good. The egg roll was crispy & delicious. They only served tea & never asked if we wanted anything else. Service was good. my husband order the dim sun lunch special which had a lot of bok choy in it. I ordered the beef with vegetable lunch special which was pretty good.
Little ghetto but it fits in perfect for a Chinatown.
A favorite spot of mine. I go here several times a month. Good food and friendly service. Open late so it's good when you're hungry after midnight! Prices are reasonable too! I've tried the other restaurants on the same block. A lot of unfriendly service and mediocre food. This is the one I recommend.
The waiters curse customers quietly in Cantonese. It was around 3 am in the morning, only a Caucasien couple and I were in the restaurant. The couple only ordered a fried rice, then the waiter whispered in Cantonese that “fxxk your mum you poor only ordered fried rice”. I didn’t tell the couple what that means because I didn’t want to ruin their night, but it should be known. Plus, the waiters chatted in Cantonese with tons of dirty words. It was quite uncomfortable to sit there as a Cantonese speaker. The food was so-so, but if you cant speak Cantonese and don’t want your mum to get insulted, just dun go there.
Excellent authentic cuisine, lovely staff, very reasonable prices. Love this place!
Great Chinese food. Generous portions and friendly and fast service. Affordable prices. Fried rice is great as well as the general tao chicken.
Friendly staff, good food, good prices. A big Cantonese chow mien is 9.95$ I mean for under 10$ you have a plate that can feed 2 if not 3 people. It's great. Our waiter was really friendly as well.
Super unfriendly staff, food tastes over night, they are not fresh at all!!! I complain to the manager. She did not even care about it. Not Recommended at all!!!
Super great food! The server may be too old to offer great service but I don't mind. I only want good food to be served. Totally recommend this place if u like great food!
The char siew fried rice was great. Brought back good memories of Penang
I had been a regular for over 10 years at this place.... but all this changed tonight. Never coming back again! The food had always been decent, but nothing extraordinary. Nonetheless i never have much complaints because of the few choices of restaurants in Montreal Chinatown. Yet, tonight not only was the wine terrible... in addition the staff had a rather unpleasant and weird attitude! They were also a little racist. Thats not all. When we felt that the attitude didn’t particularly deserve to be tipped at the usual percentage of 15% or higher, the female waitress whose haircut look like a guy actually came close to the door and talked really loud and gave me a piece of her mind as we were leaving. This restaurant’s waiting staff really need to be replaced!!! Dont go to this restaurant people!!!
First of all we got there and the staff was very rude and impatient with us. When our food finally arrived my food was not well cooked it was raw, not only that but my second plate was not edible at all. When it came time to pay the bill the women who we dealt with claimed for more tip when we had given more than enough. Since i refused to give more tip she not only pressured me into paying more but she threatened me and said “ok you do not want to pay more, i do not want to see you here again i will remember your face. If you come back i will put something in your drink”. I conclude with this restaurant being not only distasteful and poorly cooked but not welcoming at all, in other words utter trash!.
nice deco but a bit pricy
Good quality, good price.I liked the Cantonese chow mein, noodles we're well cooked and good portion of meat.Only reason why I give 4 stars is because the general tao sauce wasn't on point.I would recommend.
Food was very good and a bit more on the salty side. Staff were accommodating but service could be faster. Food took around 30 minutes to arrive which is okay.
Nice place. Good meal !
I don’t recommend this restaurant. They recommended very big meals for us., and we had to take out every dish. They have Very very Very bad service. And mandatory tips. They ask us to pay more tips. And the waiters want to fight with us.
Authentic, unpretentious --and quite frankly-- delicious Cantonese cuisine. Resto Cuisine Cantonaise is about those things.Back in the day this place used to be called Guangzhou, which is how I will always remember it. In any case, the restaurant formerly known as Guangzhou has been flying under the radar as of late, partly due to its more popular neighbors (Keung Kee and Beijing). But I challenge anyone willing to wait 15, 30 or 45 minutes at any of those other spots to give this place a try instead. Just once. Their food is as savory if not better. The staff is multilingual and will serve you in French, English, Mandarin and of course, Cantonese. As for the food, well... A picture is worth a thousand words.Need I say more?
A good value for money Cantonese restaurant within Montréal Chinatown. Our lunch was well prepared, fast served. Friendly staff.
Worst service I’ve ever seen.. unfriendly and disrespectful. Food was also terrible (my bf almost threw up). Please don’t waste your money.
Great and relatively cheap place to have dinner. The portions are huge. I recommend having one dish with noodles or rice and another side dish if you're two. We also had the springrolls as starters. When we went we were the only non-Chinese customers there, which is always a good sign. I also appreciate the extra section on the menu for vegetarians. It's not too common to see at Chinese restaurants. The waiter also asked to make sure whether we eat eggs or not.
Staff was very rude. Very little food and they food wasn't that great.
Good food, good service and prices easily affordable.
Excellent food and staff.
Great food. Decent service. Decent ambiance.
This is our second time here....and the food was okay. We had Singapore noodles that could have been stirfried a bit more. Our shrimp and scallops dish was in a sweet and sour sauce (not quite what we ordered). The restaurant was warm and servers were attentive. We we're early. Last time, the place was packed...
slow service, food not really tasty and burnt noodles, plus the staff gets rude if you don't tip enough because you were not happy
I am born and raised in HK. The Cantonese food here is very authentic and delicious. I was deeply impressed. The servers were friendly too. The preserved vegetable with meat is amazing. Highly recommended!
Best Chinese restaurant you can get at 2am in Montreal China town
The lobster is very good no doubt. The duck meat was so tender as well. However it was my worst customer service experience ever. Everyone has bad days, but the person who was servicing the food might had the worst day in his life. The way he was serving the food on the table it was something else. Forget about smile, it left like it was the mercy of that person that we were getting food. Somehow it is true right!!! Anyway, we should never say never, but I am not going there again. O! I forgot to mention, the bill was about $53, and with tax it would be $61; however the bill we had to pay was $70+; as forcefully $8 tips were changed. There was no option that I could change the tip. Anyway, we learn lessons everyday. My lesson cost me $70+. Thanks for teaching me something. On this position note it's time for me to leave.
Not the best Chinese restaurant in Chinatown but its the only one that is open deep into the late night / morning hours, prices are very reasonable, excellent portions , and decent freshness. Their Cantonese chow mein is a must order along with their fried rice,. I have know the owner for a long time and is a personal close friend of one of the servers, they are nice people would surprise me if there was negativity about their behavior.
best ginger lobster snow peas leaf in season are amazing and they close at 4 am I recomand it to all business peoples and tourists who visit Montreal really the best lobster and good service
Good place, seems a bit strange with plastic tablecloth, but a lot of choice and good is fine. Nothing extraordinary but a good casual place and round tables perfect for little groups (4/5 persons)
Perfect chinese food after 10pm. :) quick service and cheap prices!
I met up with some friends from work for a very nice lunch. The food was well cooked and tasty, especially the dim sum. The service was very friendly and efficient. The ambiance was a-okay. I will definitely return to Cuisine Cantonaise! I would have given 5 stars if the heat had been a little bit more in the dining hall.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.---------------------------The service wasn't great. The waiters were border-line rude, the service was very slow (we had to wait about 15 just to order our food after we had decided because they had forgotten about us, and every time we tried to grab their attention they just passed by). We ended up waiting over 45 minutes just for the food to arrive. The food was decent, but not the best. The general tao wasn't great compared to some other places and the chow mein definitively could've been better.---------------------------I wouldn't recommend this place, there are so many other restaurants that must be better than this one. It really isn't worth it for the price. Especially considering the service AND quality (and quantity) of the food.
Good food. Good price. Good service.
It was good just like few years ago, usually you come to the Asian/Chinese restaurant for the authenticity of the food not the service, but we were impressed by both and how kind was our waiter, he makes our kids laugh at the end of the meal and offered a lot of fortune cookies to our older one, we have appreciated the time we spent there ! 😏
The service was too slow even I have already ordered in advance. It delayed offered the food in about one hour and the staff were not really nice.
Too much msg, taste is terrible. Everything dumped into garbage, never order from them
Really good food and service.... free tea... and really good prices
The food is good. But the service sucks. I won’t go back. Thee are plenty of places around them with more reasonable service.
I can't imagine how this restaurant can survive. The food tastes awful and the service is terrible. Worst restaurant I have been to, ever.
Garlic and onion chicken - delicious.
good food, nice staff. can be slow. almost always busy
Delicious food and great service
